Downvote me if you will, but Im not the only one that feels this way. Only minor benefit Ive seen so far is the energy shield, but thats not enough to make up for all the negatives this update added to the Cyclops.

Its made the Cyclops EXTREMELY unattractive to me and honestly not even worth all the resource hunting and tediousness to have with no upside. Overall, I see little benefit to this update from a design standpoint. If you try leaving the Cyclops to repair it, you put yourself at a huge risk, especially in areas with the most dangerous creatures like the Lost River or Lava zone. If you try speeding away in it, something else will just come after you. You dont have that luxury in the Cyclops. If the Sea Moth got damaged for example, you can speed away and repair it real quick. I cna see this being a major issue in dangerous areas. Finally, the internal damage forces the player to leave the driver seat to go repair the Cyclops adds a lot of tedium. A minor annoyance but an annoyance anyway. This forces the player to take it painfully slow in an already slow moving vehicle in fear of not having everything gang up on the Cyclops and having it destroyed. Sure a large creature like the Reaper or Dragon should have the power to damage and/or destroy it, but have it as fragile as the Sea Moth is unreasonable. Im not saying it should be invincible like it was. Adding the ability for anything to destroy it. Now, that list of costs went up exponentially. That was at the cost of speed, agility, and power consumption. Before, the only benefit was that it was a mobile base and it was invulnerable to everything but pressure. I think they made the Cyclops worse in every way with little to no benefit. In order to build these mammoth submarines, though players will need to gather blueprints and other materials. The Cyclops can serve as an underwater base, making extended exploration much simpler. Once it’s fully upgraded, it can take players to 1,700 meters below the surface. In its simplest form, the Cyclops can dive to depths of 500 meters.
